Beautiful bed, sturdy solid. 1 year later and very happy with purchase.

Knowing what I do now I would not order this bed again - but we made it work. First the way the side rails attach to the headboArd and footboard are the most infuriating thing to put together as you are trying to screw a nut onto a bolt inside this small recess in the wood of the sideboard. Second the side rails are not a 1 piece flat board they are an L with this small ledge at the top. This creates this gap between the mattress and the side rail when laying on the bed - snagging your arm, pillows or anything else that happens to be on the bed. We also had to build an entirely new base as the small wooden dowels did not cut it at all. Also the color in the photo is not the color that arrived. We wanted more of a gray distressed wood barn door color the photo shows and it is much more greenish tones - make
