The bed itself is very functional. Unfortunately either in the shipping or handling the box was either cut or damaged causing the piece that is the footboard to become damaged. It’s hardly noticeable and the trouble to return. It wouldn’t be worth it therefore, we decided to keep it and cover up the damage with bedding. OMG I’m obsessed. I have a 14 inch Queen mattress and I was worried it would cover the headboard with pillows placed. It didn’t. Still plenty of headboard seen. I bought the Natural color. This bed was very easy to build. I built it by myself with maybe an hour a little bit more than an hour. The instructions will clear on how to use all the materials that they packed into the back of the headboard. The only thing that wasn’t clear was where to put the slats when you were adding that in but again you can use your best judgment of where to add in the screws. This bed is very well built and made from solid wood. It feels sturdy, durable, and secure, which is exactly what I was looking for. An additional 6 to 10 inches in height would make it even more attractive and provide better support when sitting up in bed.
