I ordered a pair of these TA carved, caned Louis armchairs and they arrived today in perfect condition. The hand carving is more detailed than I expected, every inch gorgeous. The sheer mahogany-toned finish reveals the beautiful acacia wood graining, and is satiny to the touch. The double caning is intricate and airy. This is a sturdy, luxurious, well built chair. With care, it looks meant for generations of use which was important to me. I’m so pleased with the chair’s cushions! They’re covered in opulent, highest quality upholstery-weight silk. I was expecting taupe, but these are pale aqua, and as with the finest silk taffeta weave, they reflect surrounding color and change color in the light (cream, gold, deeper aqua, green, some royal blue, etc.) with the slight movement of your viewpoint. They’re embroidered with tiny, scattered gold thread “x” shapes . They are absolutely exquisite, you’ll love them. Oh- and they’ve been improved with a hidden zipper, to remove for dry cleaning!
The only negative about these chairs was the extremely long time it took to receive them.
I hope, with Covid becoming more under control throughout the world, that will greatly improve.
While contemporary furniture is in vogue right now, if you want something special for your home, of timeless beauty, style and appeal that you can pass on in your family, I highly recommend this chair. Thank you Perigold , TA, and the Vietnamese artists who created them for us.
