Faringdon Solid Wood Bed

I really love the look of this Faringdon Solid Wood Bed. After receiving a part that was broken, Wayfair made it right! Thank you Wayfair!

The bracket starter holes (or indicator marks) were on the wrong side for both the headboard and the baseboard. They were on the outside (i.e., showing) of the pieces. I measured the marks, made the same marks on the correct side and did a mock construction and discovered that no matter where you affix the brackets and support beams to the base board they would not line up flush with the supports (for the slats) on the frame. Just to see if they were marked correctly, I did a mock construction with the original holes, and it was the same scenario. You would have to affix the brackets on the baseboard with only the top two screws affixed to the baseboard and the bottom two half the bracket hanging off the bed. I ended up having to measure and level everything myself and it still wasnt flush... The support beams are higher than the lips on the frames. For 400, I would expect things to be machined and measured properly. The instructions are also terrible... Some pictures have holes that dont exist or what appear to be entirely different pieces. Not worth the money or the trouble.

I ordered this for our second guest room now that our son has moved out. It came in two boxes. Both of them about 60 lbs so I took a piece at a time out and toted it to the bedroom. Instructions said it would take two men 45 minutes to assemble. It took one woman, me, a 67year old homemaker over three hours to assemble but by golly I did it and I love it. Well made, no damage at all and easy instructions with all the parts and then some included. I’ll post pictures of the room once things are complete but great purchase for us

Wonderful product! Nicely packaged. This is a very solid bed, does not squeak, real wood, great finish and engineered so that everything goes together easily! Husband for the first time ask me to write a review he was that impressed! 

This bed looks like the picture. It was pretty easy to assemble, but two people will make the job quicker. Make sure pay attention to the instruction with regard to which panel face you are working on (the holes are almost identical). We missed this and had to undo the steps and put them back again the right way. Instructions could have been written better so people pay attention to this. The actual bed is sturdy ( I still think it needs a middle leg to support the slats) If you are buying this bed as a matching set, beware the stain does not match.
