Baelynn Bed

Love this bed I had to wait to get it but then I found it on Wayfair and it came right away so I was excited have no complaints on this perfect.

Sadly this bed is made so cheap. The second day my daughter had it the “wood” on the outside of the bed broke off. They are only held on by a couple of screws. Every time she gets in bed the middle support slides to one side or the other. She only weighs 100 pounds. Really unfortunate because it’s an adorable bed.

This bed is the mid-century look I was going for. It was a two person assembly job and there were some screws missing for the headboard assembly but overall sturdy.

Quick to put together. One down side was the missing washers. Sleeps well.

The bed is a full size but the frame is large than the full size mattress

It took me most of the day doing it by myself (despite what they think, my little guys didn’t actually help mommy lol). Looks great, but taking off a star because of the long screws sticking out (see attached photo) on both sides. Who thought it was a good idea to not use a shorter one? I don’t mind it scratching up my current old mattress but I’ve ordered a new one that I don’t want mucked up.

I love this bed! It is everything I dreamed out would be!

The bed looks great, but the smell and assembly is another story. The bed (especially the headboard) smells so toxic that after assembling it, it made me so sick that I had to go sleep somewhere else because my entire house reeked of formaldehyde. I had to take the headboard off at put it outside. I brought it back in after two days hoping the smell had faded but nope, it’s still awful. It took forever to assemble because none of the screw holes lined up on the support beam, there is no way to get the screws in that hold the slats in place withought a power tool (which the directions specifically say NOT to use power tools). The color is also not quite as dark as I thought it would be. Yes, it looks pretty and feels somewhat sturdy, but lots of cons.

It’s pretty much true to the pictures. The headboard is a little bit flimsy. The real issue I had was with the overwhelming chemical smell. I knew that it contained formaldehyde but I didn’t research anything about off-gasing before buying and I didn’t realize how strong it would smell. It has faded a bit over the past week but it’s definitely still there. It might be okay if you leave it outside for a few days to air out. But for that reason though, I would not buy this again.
