The couch was shipped in 4 pieces. The entire back is the same height as the arms. Its very firm so it is will last quite a while, but can stiffen the body if you are not used to firm. Was skeptical at first, a lot of the reviews said it was too short, or too small. I didn’t think it was going to fit appropriately. I also thought it was going to slide everywhere since there’s no connecting links. Couch is perfect size for my room mate and I and fit the space comfortably. The couch practically filled out in less than a day. Unpacking was super easy. And there’s no sliding around at all. Super soft. I actually love the sofa. The seats are great but the back rest aren’t. It needs extra throw pillows to make the back rest not be an issue. I’m gonna buy extra throw pillows.
