Int he picture the table looks smooth. It's not. It is rough sawn and have imperfections. I think that made be stylish, but not what the picture depicts. Husband built this by himself while I was at work and said it was pretty easy, just a couple screws. Needed something for a TV that would hold Xboxdvd player but the shelf had to be high enough to not block heat vent on the lower wall and this was perfect.
