Horrible purchase. The table came completely damaged. Huge, deep gashes on the table surface, there are cracks on the seem where the tables folds. One of the hinges is completely bent which doesn’t allow for the table to properly close. And there is a chunk of one of the legs missing which has been filed with a wood filler. My new Mid Century Modern Dining Table is PERFECT for my dining needs. This is a beautiful dining table. I'm loving the option of being able to add the extension piece to accommodate 6 person seating during the Holidays and special family dinner events. And then the option to remove the table extension for everyday use with just 4 dining chairs when it's just the four of us. Huge plus for sure! The assembly of this Table was pretty straightforward with an easy instruction manual to follow. Once assembling was complete this dinner table is very sturdy and solid. I love the fact that the two square pieces of the table extension once the brackets are put on to connect the two pieces together then you are able to just fold them together for easy storage. Which by the way the folded extension can be stored away under this dinner table under the top of table on a shelf that is there. That there is a huge convience for me. There's no more having to run down stairs under a bed to pull out a heavy extension piece that doesn't even fold . I think that is brilliant! A couple of my dining chairs are a big nice size as you can see in the pictures and there's still plenty of room to dine in comfort without crowding. And I can say the material for this dining table is very strong and of great quality. So I just know it's gonna hold up for several years to come. And that makes me a very happy Wayfair customer! I ordered this extendable dining table with marble look top and gold legs for my smaller dining area in a rental condominium that we probably won't stay in more than a year or 2. I mention the timeframe because I would have invested in a more high end table if it were for long term but I was still very picky and what I wanted in the meantime and this seemed to fit our needs for space and versatility if we have company. This table is very heavy but rather simple to assemble. The marble look veneer and pretty durable and hasn't scratched easily with everyday use so far. We are correctly using it as a round everyday table without the leaves to save space. We keep 4 fabric placemats on it and a marble lazy susan in the center to store napkins and S&P, etc. so the surface isn't taking much daily abuse. The leaves fit well and buckle into place snuggly with the included metal buckle hardware that is supplied to install. When the leaves are installed, the table remains stable and solid. Just as an fyi n case this world bother you if using without the leaves normally, the placemats and lazy susan also camouflage the fact that the faux marble veneer pattern does not match up between the 2 sides without the leaves in. With the leaves installed in the correct way, the marble pattern matches up across the whole table. The other negative for me personally, but may be a plus for others, is the gold legs are very shiny gold vs a brushed or aged or matte brass/gold look. I was hoping they would be a more subtle gold/brass finish. Because the price was so good for the features and build of this table, I'll probably just plan on finding a patina type paint/glaze option to make them a little more subtle. One other thing to think about when ordering this table, is what chairs you are planning on using. We had already bought midcentury modern wood frame with faux leather arm chairs we really liked and found a great deal on before purchasing the table but didn't measure the width of the angular chair frames with arms. The chapters for fine when sitting in them but are too wide to completely push all the way in when no one is sitting at the table, therefore taking a little more space from the pass through traffic area in my open concept downtown city condo. In summary, this is a really good value for a table that is designed well with durable materials that seem durable and are attractive and the 2 extension leaves provide versatility and room for expansion when having company. Just be aware that the good legs are shiny, bright gold and the marble pattern matches up with the leaves installed but otherwise, the pattern does not connect and you may want to use placemats or center decor to camouflage the break in the pattern if this bothers you. Instructions were super easy to follow and, once unboxed, it took me (single female) less than an hour to fully assemble. The instructions were missing a step to adhere the base to the table tops, but it was pretty intuitive to figure out based on the holes in both and the extra hardware. The base is made of metal. Construction feels sturdy and it’s a nice looking table. Placement of the base means you can’t fully tuck the chairs under the table top when not in use.
