I'd probably go more like 3.75 stars...and bought the runner, welcome-size rug and large area rug. The main color is more tan (looks a bit more gold in the picture) which is good. A good buy for the price, as I think the pads were in some cases more expensive than the rug. My only complaint would be they are not heavy-duty, which I didn't expect for the price. I'm just concerned how they will hold up over time. The runner and welcome-size mat don't adhere to the pad, so constantly aligning them right now (pad stays in place, mats do not; large rug stays in place). Vacuum clean regularly, Wiping with a dry cloth is recommended for the harder stains. Carpet cleaners or shampooes can be used.
