80 Series Highview Storm Door with Retractable Screen (handle sold separately)

This is a great screen door if you have a dog, as the bottom is high enough that the dog can't see out & go berserk if a delivery/mailman goes by, which eliminates a lot of glass cleaning. It also gives so much more light to your room, as the front door can be left open.

The door had a couple of damaged spots and the center piece was cut awful. We paid way too much money for a door to look like this right out of the box. We recently had another door delivered and we inspected it before install only to find out the retracting screen wasn't working correctly. We refused the replacement door and now the next step is try for another door to be delivered or get a refund. Really hoping it works out because we like the overall look of the door. We'd just like one without any damage. Note: The door handle was turned the correct way.

This mechanism can be misleading for some people. You tap it To hold the door open and toggle back to close it. Too often a person unfamiliar with it, such as a handyman, has tried to close the door the same way to hold it open. They step on the tap mechanism, then start pulling on the door to close it. The last time it happened resulted in damage. Doesn't seem to matter if we instructed him or not. This was originally one of the features we liked. Otherwise design features are just fine.
