The lock itself and functionality are very nice. However, the lock regularly drops wifi connection which has been an issue when I have needed to remotely let someone in my home. Not sure why I bought the wifi version if it wasn't going to work. The other issue is battery life. I find that I have to replace the batteries about once a month which is ridiculous. I have also had this lock die on me twice without receiving a low battery notification. Both times we could not get into the house through the front door. Luckily I planned ahead, knowing this didn't use a key, to have a backup way of entering my home. The batteries also do not seat very well in the battery compartment and we have come home to the lock being powerless multiple times simply because a battery became dislodged. I did not have any of these problems with the prior assure lock, hopefully this is something the company fixes in the future.

The lock overall is solid, and seemingly high quality - the battery life is extremely frustrating though. I seem to go through batteries about every 4-6 weeks and both times, no notification the battery is almost dead - once which left me locked out of the house and forced to crawl through one of my windows like I'm sneaking back into my parents house late at night. I like the connectivity and all, but the battery life makes it hard to recommend.

Super easy to install by following the given directions. Super simple to use! It's everything I wanted for my gym to give my members limited access and for each of them to have their own code.

I strongly recommend you don't buy this lock. It has been nothing but trouble for me. Connecting to WiFi was rediculously difficult and I am in IT. When I reached out to Support I was basically told that the requirements are so specific for which routers work and how I had to setup my WiFi that I couldn't believe this was produced in 2023. I eventually got that problem solved but now it freezes up about once a week and will only reset by taking the batteries out and putting them back in. The keypad has an error about 1/10 tries and the batteries run out extremely fast. It's beautifully designed on the outside and painfully poorly built on the inside, especially the software. It's janky at best - avoid at all costs. I'm planning to buy the Schlage smart lock and then burn this one in protest to purge the demons it brought into my home.

The Yale Locks connected by August are some of the most versatile locks. This second generation is great because it has the wifi built in, eliminating the August/Yale connect device that little hands easily reset to factory default. This new lock is Homekit compatible which is a must if you want local control of the lock via Apple Home or Home Assistant. Most of the locks I buy are for clients wishing to control a gate or complex door strike entryway; I have to custom modify these Yale deadbolt locks to control a switch that tells a microcontroller to activate a relay. It sure would be great if Yale made a version of this lock that was for those use cases so I don't have to solder 9 wires to extend the keypad, and do all this other custom work. DoorSense is great when used in a deadbolt application. Since this lock is just using August smart lock technology (Yale App) you can set this lock up using the Yale app or the August Home app.

All works as described and installation instructions were easy to follow. If you have a deadbolt already installed this goes in smoothly. If you have not installed a deadbolt before, I found this no harder than any other. The app is simple, well designed, and easy to add others to.

I've had this for less than a month and its already beeped non-stop 2 times. I can't figure out exactly why, but reddit seems to think its because of dead batteries. For the past 3 days its been non-operational since I've taken out the batteries, until I get a chance to get new ones.
