I bought this to help me get in and out of my new soaking tub that had to be placed on a small platform due to being unable to dig into the foundation for the tub drain. I use the step stool with strategically placed grab bars to carefully get in and out of the tub. After weeks of agonizing and trying to decide what to buy to fill this need, I finally realized that I needed a step stool that was essentially the same height as the interior depth of my tub, so that there wasn't a jarring difference when getting in and out. I also love that this has a wide & deep enough step for my size 9.5 foot and is raised rubber on the step itself. I've used it to get out of a very slippery bubble bath and greatly appreciated the raised rubber surface. Also, because it's rubber, no worries about it getting wet unlike a wood step stool (which also, would be slippery with wet feet!). This can hold up to 250 lbs so I don't have to worry if my husband needs to use it for something, either. I've used this for sitting on to give myself a pedicure as well as reaching the top shelf of a closet, it's so versatile! One of the reasons I bought it was because it folds up for easy storage. We don't have a lot of space in our master bathroom so the fact this can fold up to go into a cupboard or closet or behind a leaning mirror, genius! I slipped it behind the tub where it's not immediately visible but still easy to get to. The instructions on the stool itself make it (theoretically) idiot-proof. It clearly tells you what leg to open/close first and to make sure it's locked open, even going so far as telling you to listen for the "snap" that it's locked. This is how I would design a step stool if I designed step stools. Can't say enough great things about this item, so glad I bought it and highly recommend it!. Melissa. Fountain Hills, AZ.
