How did this design not get to market sooner Very efficient and there is less scatter.

Solid marble but as others mentioned the pestle fits perfectly in the bowl so you can’t actually use it to grind. I combined two different ones and switched the pestle to the larger mortar and really like it because it fits nicely in the hand but it definitely does not work as it arrived.

very cute and the pestle is super heavy that helps grinding - fantastic buy!
