This is in a slight tilt position otherwise it goes nicely flat against wall more than others. Good range of motion to extend and swivel.

I have no idea how its holding my tv up and not ripping out of the wall at the same time! Its very precarious and everytime I adjust it feels like its all going to just snap. But its still holding, which I find surprising! Also, the tilt options doesnt really work. Be careful that when you try to tilt it your tv wont just fall face down on the hinges. Where we have it tilted now isnt even in a correct spot but rather where it just jammed itself into a position. Yikes. But thats what a 40 tv wall mount will get you
