It's as described, and no surprise, but I don't find it comfortable after a short while, and it's a bit awkward to get onto when the seat is extended up to counter height since it is on wheels, it's a slippery surface, and it's on wheels so it can sort of slip out from under you if you are not careful (unless you have it on carpet). I do like the range of heights because at the shortest it is almost like a regular chair height so that is handy. To be honest, I use it more like a rolling end table right now, but it is just as described online. Just not the stool that I was hoping would be handy at my kitchen counter due to comfort and difficulty getting onto it. If it's used at the lower height, it is easy to sit down on it without worrying it will slip out. Would be good for somewhere you need a rolling stool to tuck right in and weren't going to sit in for longer than half an hour. I don't have any durability concerns..
