I think the pan should be a bit heavier on the edges, at least in spots where shims may be needed. The pan instructions talk about using a mortar bed. Maybe in 1950! Just make sure your walls are straight and your floor is level before you install. I even emailed the company to make sure the base I was buying was compatible and they got back to me right away!
