These vintage style door knob rosettes are constructed of stamped steel and come in a classic bronze finish. This type of rosette is designed for indoor use only, and it is used with other vintage style hardware by Prime-Line Products and other classic hardware manufacturers. These rosettes feature an outside diameter of 2-1/2 in., an inside diameter of 11/16 in. and have a 2 in. mounting hole centre spacing. Note: If attempting to use these rosettes on doors with large, pre-drilled knob holes, the fasteners of these rosettes require a solid surface to mount to. The large 2-1/8 in. (approximate size) pre-bored holes must first be filled with a hardening filler, to then be able to receive the rosette fasteners. Installation tip #1: Products like Fix-It-All® and Bondo Body Filler® have worked well for some, but care must be used to avoid damaging any refinished door surfaces during application and finishing. Installation tip #2: Apply a small amount of Loctite ThreadLocker 271® to the set screw threads in the event they are loosening – Loctite® purchased separately.

The latch is solid brass as the listing states. However, the fit and finish of this hardware is a little off. The two pieces don't touch when placed side by side, there is a big gap in the middle and you can see the latch between the crack. The catch mechanism is very short and would barely work if put on cabinet doors as intended. Plus the screw holes are all over the place and not drilled in line with each other. This knob set is constructed of zinc alloy (cast Zamak) and comes in a polished chrome-plated finish. It is designed for use with a concealed latching mechanism, it has an offset bolt with a flat tip, and it assembles easily with a push nut fastener. This knob set has a 1-3/4 in. Outside diameter, and it features a flat, slotted emergency-access knob on the exterior. Knob sets like these are used to replace broken and missing knob sets of concealed latches. This set is used with steel doors, and it is easy to install. Note: Assembly will be permanent upon the first unification of both parts. Attempting to separate the inside and outside knobs once joined may damage the internal push nut component.
