Couch is extremely well made…all fabric seams are straight and frame is solid. It is firm for seating but not unforgiving or uncomfortable..I feel it will hold up well. Fabric is a blue gray pillow ticking and high quality. I sprayed with Scotchgard but think spills would roll off anyway. Love the sofa. Have owned now for 2 months. Initially I was concerned that material was stretching. It does appear stretch after sitting on sofa but material returns to normal after a few minutes. Sofa has down feathers in it that seems to help with material returning to proper shape. The cushions themselves are comfortable. The sofa required some assembly, I.e. the legsfront wooden pieces needed to be attached. I was able to do it by myself. Love the look of the sofa and feel it will withstand the test of time and use..
