Chest Murphy Bed

Transform your living space with the Murphy Cabinet Bed, a smart furniture solution designed for modern homes. This multifunctional piece looks like a stylish cabinet during the day and quickly converts into a comfortable Full-size guest bed whenever needed. Designed for small apartments, home offices, and guest rooms, this space-saving bed helps maximize your available space without sacrificing comfort or style.

Did take a while to put together, but was able to do it by myself. Got this for a guest bed in the office that only gets used sporadically. For a mattress we are using a Sleep Number C4 bed we just upgraded from in the bedroom. This cabinet was perfect as it had the solid base a Sleep Number requires and the entire bed, mattress pad, pillows, and comforter ALL fit inside the cabinet and drawer. I did have to drill a small hole in the bed base near the head off the bed for the air tube and another in the back board to plug in the air pump, but both are in places not visible with the bed open or closed. We contemplated a traditional Murphy bed, but they seem to need the weight of a mattress to help hold them open? And they lacked storage space for all the other bedding to make up the bed. Since storage space is always in short supply, this bed seemed a better fit for our needs. I only gave 4 stars for some minor gripes. First are the stickers used to cover the cam locks. Wow is that cheesy. Most furniture I have put together using cam locks have a plastic disc that goes into the cam lock hole. However, the only place these are visible are the inside of the headboard when the bed is open. I would have appreciated plastic caps for this area vs the stickers. My only other complaint is about the cam locks themselves. Other furniture I have put together (including the glass door cabinet next to the bed chest in the photo) had a stop so you can't insert the screwdriver too far and potentially run into the cam lock pin when turning the cam lock. I am not sure if this is what kept happening, but I did have a few cam locks where I just could not get them to turn as far as they should have. Will call this one user error, but with a properly designed cam lock this isn't an issue. Like I said, pretty minor, and overall very pleased with the bed for what we needed. It is also really easy to open and set up as I had to do that half a dozen times or so figuring out how to get the Sleep Number air pump connected and the holes drilled.. Cheran. Lakeview, OR. It looks nice. Arrived mostly on time (1 box was delayed) and only missing 2 screws. There is a little scratch on the front but, otherwise, no issues. Somewhat difficult to put together and took two people for some parts of it. And I can confirm that there is NO mattress despite the description of the item specifically stating there was one (it said none was included in another part of the description so slightly confusing). Havent used it yet as waiting for mattress but happy so far.. Nicole. Toronto, ON. Sat Mar 14 2026

The Murphy bed is not quite what I expected. I chose it so my guests could sit up comfortably without hurting themselves, but I did not realize that the top must be lifted into place before the bed can be used. This makes it difficult and inconvenient for guests to set up on their own. However, I do like the way it looks and appreciate the storage drawer at the bottom. This cleverly designed piece of furniture is a sight to behold! It looks like an elegant chest of drawers, but it's actually a Murphy bed! Plus, the integrated USB port on the side makes charging your devices a breeze overnight.

I was quite intimidated when I opened the packages, lots of pieces and lots of fasteners. I slowly read thru the instructions, and realized I did need a 2nd person to help assemble. Once I got the drawer rails started, the rest was just as the instructions showed. My power screwdriver battery was dead, which would have made the whole process quicker, however I got the Murphy Cabinet completed. It looks great and is very sturdy.. Barb. Fri May 22 2026

Well made. Easy to put together. One suggestion is to number the parts with a small removable sticker. A lot of the parts are similar. Mattress is not useful. Please upgrade to a more firmer mattress. The mattress it comes with is too soft and you start feeling the bed after the first night. But a great piece and addition to my home. Anonymous. Shipping took a bit longer than I would have expected, but it's a very heavy piece of furniture at 362 pounds and it has to be shipped in four different containers by a freight company. We love the color. It's a neutral gray, so not too brown and not too blue, and the material is solid engineered wood. The directions were good and the hardware is well made and everything fit nicely. It is quite a task to put together, so if you're not experienced it is going to be a challenge. We are experienced, but the only reason we knocked it down from a 5 to a 4 is that no matter what we did - and we followed directions exactly as written - the cabinet would not close completely with the mattress on it. After trying everything we decided to take off the straps that are attached to it, and bend the mattress in half, lie on it to keep it tightly together, and then shut the frame inside. When we did that it closed. All in all though, it's a very nice piece of furniture.. Kirk. ID. Fri Jul 05 2024
