The Dimplex 26-In Multi-Fire XHD Plug-In Electric Fireplace Insert is a wonderful option for those looking for a realistic wood burning fire experience, but who don't want the mess, hassles or dangers typically associated with one. With logs moulded from actual burnt pieces of wood that are then hand painted, the firebox features a truly life-like log set. Additionally, each log is wired with glowing LED lighting that simulates a smouldering log. The bright and full flames rise high and wide for a truly stunning display, while controllable flame speed and brightness levels allow for a more customized overall experience. For added effects, just behind the log grate, there is LED lighting that allows you to add either Red or Blue accents to the ember area for a unique appearance. The XHD firebox also features a powerful integrated ceramic heater that is capable of producing supplemental heat for rooms up to 1000 Sq. Ft. in size. This is a highly energy efficient heat that will help keep your electric bill lower than other forms of heating. Should you prefer, the heat function can be operated independently from the flame effects meaning you can enjoy the heat without flame effect (ideal for bedrooms or while sleeping), as well as the flame effect without heat (giving you the option for year-round use). A multi-function remote control comes with the unit and allows for easy operation of the flames, speeds, brightness, temperature and on/off timer from almost anywhere in your room. The on-screen digital display is a wonderful feature that gives you easy-to-read visual confirmation of the various firebox functions & settings. Give your space an eye-catching focal-point with the addition of this feature-rich, life-like firebox from Dimplex.

It's hard to find a review that spells out the important details so here you go - it's whisper quiet with just flames while the heat is off, it's really not that loud when the heat comes on, the heat definitely won't warm up a room unless it's a small room, no menu lights while it's operating, the flames are an excellent replica for an electric fireplace, even so the price seems pretty high for what you get here. I wanted to add it to an old media cabinet to get some year round ambiance in my hearth room so a serious heat source wasn't as important to me. There are also a handful of reviews that suggest it's loud or it makes a clicking sound and I believe this is what happens if something is wrong with the unit or there's dust in the motor, etc. If you hear a sound while it's just flames, or the heat is ridiculously loud you should contact Dimplex.. Danielle. North Ridgeville, OH. Sun Jan 02 2022
