Nice drapes my window was wider than the advertisement so hung the scarf over the top of the rod. I may change out the rod to a vintage white with a bit thicker rod. The curtains and the scarf are not heavy. If you want the gathered layered look in the scarf valance pull the scarf on each back corner sides behind the curtain rod ends to smooth out the back top corners behind the rod, that will help give you the gathered front valance look even if you wanted to let the scarf hang down more in the middle. The length I bought was 95 tall. My ceiling is 9 feet tall. So the bottom of my curtains were up a couple inches from the floor. It looks good. If I had ordered the longer size curtain it might have been a more dramatic look. I just didn’t want to trip over the curtains if walking by them. I may still lower the rod a couple inches.
