It's a mahjong revolution. We are thrilled to announce the arrival of one of the most beautiful American mahjong sets ever made, the Artisan Collection: Butterfly series, by Linda Li. This mahjong set was created with one singular objective: to create stunning tile designs that have never been seen before. To accomplish this goal, a high level of precision in art and design was required. The final result was tiled with graphics that look like artwork, and not cartoons. All tile designs are cut by laser, allowing us to offer the highest level of detail and precision in each tile design. The process is much more painstaking and takes much longer to create than standard tiles which are created by mould. All tiles are hand painted using only experienced hands. The result is stunningly beautiful tiles employing 5 distinct colours (red, green, blue, black, and gold). You'll marvel at the crisp and clean dots (no overlapping dots), the highly detailed life-like dragons, bams that look like real bamboo, flowers with details never seen before, but most of all, you'll be transfixed by the incredible Butterflies, each one prettier than the next. Instead of 16 flower tiles, this Butterfly Series comes with 8 butterfly tiles and 8 traditional flower tiles, so you can choose either version for your flowers. In addition to the gorgeous tiles, there are several premium upgrades in the Artisan collection. You will also enjoy 4 solid beechwood racks, each with a magnetic matching beechwood pusher providing a touch of sophistication to your set. You'll appreciate our 4 pouch matching quilted wrapper, where each rack is stored in its own protective sleeve in order to ensure your wood racks are always well protected when stored. The authentic metal money chips are something to behold. They are solid in weight and feel thanks to their thickness (2mm), and are virtually unbendable. These are the highest quality mahjong coins you will find anywhere. They come stored in a matching drawstring bag. Also included, is a premium large beechwood bettor, with N-E-S-W designations. The smooth wood finish matches the quality found in the rest of your set. All of these high-end components are packaged in a stylish black poppy soft bag, constructed with our patented V-shape design that allows for easy loading and unloading of all your components. When done, place the bag over your shoulder and walk into any mahjong room knowing you're carrying the best mahjong set money can buy. Enjoy.

To play American mah jong, the table surface needs to be smooth. There are many rough areas causing the tiles to turnover. The center console is lower than the surface of the table and also has a hump in the center where the dice are. Therefore it is not smooth in order to place the wall into the center for all players to pick from. Three out of four slots where the tiles come to the surface are not flush with the rest of the table, again causing tiles to flip over when the wall is pushed to the center of the table. The purpose for buying the table was to speed up play. It actually slowed play considerably due to fear of turning over tiles or disturbing the walls. I am also nervous that the felt fabric will not hold up over time because playing American Mah Jong, requires racks and pushers to move the walls to the center. The surface will get a lot of wear from the racks and pushers. Photos show two areas where the center console and one slot is not flush with the surface.. Jackie. Townville, SC. Mon May 03 2021
