Couldn't be happier with this piece! I was a little worried about damage based on super long transit from one side of the country to the other but packaging was substantial so no dings, scuffs, etc. Assembly was an absolute breeze. 6 screws/washers/spring washers... so easy a non handy person can do it. Well built and 7 years in, still cooking along. There are some dings, but it has resisted scratching remarkably well. The color has gotten redder over time, which I don't love with warm colored furniture, but it hasn't turned orange, which is the worst. This is a nice media console. Definitely easier to assemble with 2 people, and the instructions/illustrations are not very clear. I'm a bit disappointed that my receiver does not fully fit; i can't close the sliding doors. Receiver's depth with buttons is 14.75" and the cabinet space is 14"D to the tracks. I was able to fit my speakers in the lower side cabinets, but there are no holes for speaker wires so I'm drilling my own. Great value for the price. It’s heavy even thought it’s not wood. It took my husband and I just under an hour to put it together. It’s relatively simple.
