The ClosetMaid Impressions Adjustable Teardrop Closet Rod allows you to customize the size to fit your closet's exact shape, expanding from 30 in. to 48 in. The teardrop design of the sturdy steel rod allows for a higher load capacity than a standard round bar. It also helps hangers slide easily. Add another rod to double-hang shirts over pants or hang high for longer items like dresses.

I installed the rods at exactly 48 inches. They feel lightweight but sturdy, and the hanging brackets feel sturdy too. The instructions were a little unclear, and I wasn’t sure what the extra screws were for, but I was able to install them. If you have the space, I’d recommend choosing a larger size for more support in the middle. I don’t plan to pack mine tightly; I’ll use them for my seasonal and most-worn clothes.. Kahrla_g. Ig. This is a full length rod, not one of the telescoping versions or s split rod with a connector in the middle. This rod was easily cut with a hacksaw for my smaller opening. The rod comes with two end caps/feet each with a rubber pad to better grip the wall. The rod slips into a cup on each foot. One foot has a longer cup. The larger cap is connected to its wall pad by a large threaded bolt. Twisting the cup applies pressure to the wall pad, locking the whole rod assembly to the walls. Sturdy! These things won’t sag or pop out of these walls anytime soon. The number of rods I’ve had fail on me with my curtains is baffling. There is no way these are ever being weighed down. This was very easy to install and exactly what I was looking for. I had a issue with light creeping through the gap of the wall and drapery before, but the problem has been solved with the sleek design of this drapery rod. The return at the ends allows for your drapery curve back towards the wall removing light creep at the edges. The double rod is also very helpful at providing the option of what kind of lighting I want throughout the day. During beautiful days I have everything open, when I want light but a bit of privacy I close the inner layer that has sheer drapery and when I want to sleep in I close my outer layer of blackout drapery.
