This lamp is not metal as it appears in the photo. It is a painted silver. Very cheap looking.

Just the floor lamp I was looking for . Perfect for a reading lamp . Direct light with no peripheral glare. I read reviews that it was difficult to assemble . NOT SO! I did it by myself in 10 minutes. I ordered the black and it is a flat black .

This is ok. It suits the purpose for now,but I'll probably replace it with something I like better. The cons: these types of lamps never seem to be totally stable, the rod always kind of moves around. The arm part is stationary, meaning it doesn't move up or down, just holds that angle. I knew that going in, but once I got it together I realized that I did want to adjust the lamp head..... oh well. Overall 3/5
