Reversible Fan and Light Ceiling Fan Remote

Perfect purchase from start to finish. Exactly what I needed, when I needed it, how fast I needed it, and in the condition I needed it. The replacement remote was extremely simple to install. For those who may not be electrically inclined, don't worry. You CAN do this. You just need to turn off the circuit breaker that provides power to the fan, get on a ladder, remove the 2-4 screws holding the cap to the ceiling (don't worry, the fan is attached to the bracket in the ceiling, the cap is just covering the wires and can be safely removed), and take a picture with your phone of the 4 little "DIP" switches on the black, rectangular, wireless remote box with the antenna wire sticking out of it. It's usually tucked into the ceiling bracket. If it was installed correctly, you'll see the white DIP switches immediately. If not, slide the control box out of the ceiling bracket a little way to see them. You may also have to flip it over if the switches are pointing towards the ceiling instead of the floor. As long as the circuit breaker is off, you're completely safe around these wires. Once you know the "ON" and "OFF" settings for the 4 tiny plastic switches, just open the back of your new remote and set the 4 switches in the same position. This DIP switch feature allows you to isolate your fan remote to a single fan so it doesn't accidentally operate any nearby fans. This is especially helpful if you have more than one Fanimation fan in your home, or live close to neighbors in a "cookie cutter" housing environment, like condos, apartments, duplexes, or multiplexes, where everyone kept had the same fan installed during construction.

I could not get the remote to work with the fan. Maybe it was defective.

It was really easy to install over the existing light switch without any extra wiring, and once you get the hang of it (touch sensitivity) it works really well.
