The lamp is a good height to illuminate a desktop. The metal base is a bit crude in the welding and painting, so I wouldn't use this lamp in a formal setting, but it was way less expensive than comparably sized lamps, so it's a good value and fine for a casual room.

This sucker is big. The base is a great size, but that lamp shade is very very big and square. I thought it would look better put together, but it doesn’t. It’s just a big ol lamp. It’s cute, just very large for a bedside table or a table by your sofa.
