Super cute nautical lamp. The rope is real rope twine. I had to clean/cut the fringed ends, but after that it looked perfect. The turn on/off is a slide switch on the cord, not a normal lamp turn knob near the bulb. The bottom of the shade meets right at the top of the rope, it does not go past.
