I chose this for my stairwell expecting it to produce this very effect! Now my stairwell is a work of art! Only issue is I think it’s made in China because the fittings were not standard and it had to be rigged.

Great statement light but should not be used by itself. Definitely be used in tandem with general lighting such as can lights otherwise, you'll have a significant shadow pattern.
