To make a wall plate, two pieces of glass are cut, cleaned, stacked together and placed into a kiln. The kiln goes up to 1450°f, the glass becomes molten and fuses together to make one piece of glass. The glass goes to a water jet and the plate is cut out. Then, the glass is placed onto a mould and taken to 1300°f, the glass becomes elastic and gravity pulls the glass over the mould. Hot knobs call this process slumping. The glass spends about 48 hours in the kilns. Expect slight variations in colour and size.
