This is a good pair of lamps. Sturdy metal base with a finish that looks a little like wood (warm gray tone), with a modern, industrial vibe. The linen-like shade in natural off-white softens it nicely. The shades are folding /collapsible but with a metal rim that keeps them in place nicely and feeels sturdy when assembled. The usb port works ready for a phone charger or anything usb powered (you supply the usb cord). Standard switch at base of standard bulb. I like the size of these lamps - big enough for an end table or a side board, not so big that’s it’s hard to find a place for them. They’d be at home anywhere - nightstand, living room, etc. I have one in my office on an end table and the other one on a console table in a media room (I don’t like paired lamps together.) Love the clean lines and easy assembly. I gave 4 stars because the finish is fine but not amazing, and I wish it was touch-on/off (but I knew it wasn’t when I ordered it), or a switch on the base would be nice.
