The combination of firm foam with a layer of memory foam is just right. This mattress topper in the 3" thick size serves me as all I need in the way of a mattress laid on top of 1/2" ensolite gym mats. There is no restless bouncing as there is in a traditional mattress. There is just a solidness that allows me a deep sleep.
