I cannot begin to express my delight with this bed. From setup to sleep, it has been a dream. The bed itself is gorgeous, sturdy, and I feel like I am staying in a beautiful hotel everytime I go to climb in bed. I also love the depth of the headboard (it perfectly balances my projector onto the opposite wall, making for perfect movie nights in bed!)
Setup: (written by a single female who does not have any sort of background in woodworking or building)
I have put together a lot of "adult lego/flatpack furniture" beds in my life, and this was BY FAR the best experience I have ever had with "California King sized Legos." The assembly instructions are clear and concise, making this a fun few hours instead of a fight with shoddily made parts... You know, the one where you need to walk away so you don't bend a metal pole over your knee in a fit of rage.
**I want to note that while the instructions state that this is a 2 person job, I did it on my own without a hitch. The only things that require 2 people involve having parts slightly lifted off the ground. If you are willing to get creative, you will not have an issue putting this bed together yourself. I have attached some photos of how I worked around the "2 people needed" part of the setup.
**Tip: MAKE SURE to read whenever it says "Note"... that is what sets these assembly instructions apart. Their notes continually saved my from having to undo parts I had already fastened (as I have had to do with many other assembly instructions in the past.)
**Pearl of Wisdom: If you have hardwood floors, attach velcro or foam (anything to protect metal from your floors) to the bottom of parts 11 and 14 before putting those together. They are the only metal pieces that touch the ground, and it is easier to put something on them ahead of time.
This bed is an absolute win.
