Tried & True Honest opinion for the Royal Shade Sail Triangle with roping cables in the 18x18x18 size. Many of my friends have the canvas sunshades, always commenting either how heavy or moldy they can become after one season. I researched on WayFair for an ideal solution finding this particular style in the white color. Made out of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) this is considered to be a strong, lightweight, and durable thermoplastic made from petroleum. Known for its high strength-to-density ratio and excellent resistance to chemicals and moisture, it is one of the most widely used plastics in the world, however there are some draw backs as I temporarily hung it above my back patio. Ironically, as soon as this was delivered, my HOA advised to take everything down off of the house since I am scheduled for the upcoming painting cycle. Being hung temporarily, it was easy to hang, sun shining thru brightened the area under a canopy as providing an easy shade. The unveiling: packaged well, instructions and hardware included. I included the no no's on the instruction page as one has to wait for the fold wrinkles to iron out themselves over time, no regular ironing, no dryer, no dry clean, no scrubbing with a stiff brush or cleaners, no bleach as can lead to permanent breakdown of fabrics. UM.....alrighty then. The fabric is definitely a loose plastic weave with tiny air holes thru out to allow air flow. Not water proof (as stated) as I sprayed a hose over it, water does pool in any loose areas so make sure the fabric is very taught. Light weight for traveling and can be hung by one person. Included are pictures up close of the material as not really seen on the website. Now knowing what to expect, no surprises at this time, I am looking forward to hanging it up over the patio, and sitting under the canopy of shade for the upcoming summer heat. Enjoy!. Kelly. So I’ve never had one of these before and I thought it would be cute over a new little patio that I created. However, I found out from my association that we are not allowed to hang any flags or anything from the building so now that I have it, I’m not allowed to hang it. The product itself was interesting. I’m not sure why but I was expecting more of a canvas type material. This is light and almost shiny and sparkly. It would let some light through for sure and it’s very very lightweight. If I were able to hang it, I feel like it would be very easy to do. You can see the sturdiness of the hanging hardware and the size of it would’ve been perfect maybe a little small, so maybe I should’ve picked one a little bigger. I love this canopy. It covers the entire lower part of our porch, except to the end where, if it rains, pours down on you. The canopy came with metallic wires that can be used to secure it, but the wires are too long, and there is no way to adjust them, so we ended up getting a spring that would allow for stretching when it's windy. This kit comes with a LOT of wiring, plenty to provide you with options to hang your sail in case you didn't measure right/the sail isn't exactly what you thought it would be. If you're looking at a hardware kit that doesn't come with the hooks, you're making a mistake. you need at LEAST 2 of these that screw and can tighten easily to add tension.. Michael. Rome, GA.
