The wood is very light (soft) so I ended up painting it. Can’t leave it in the rain. Wish it came pre painted. Not easy to paint in between the slats. . Update After less than a year it started cracking, even after I had painted to seal it. Wood slats are chipping away. Not a good product unless you have money to buy a new one every year.
