It's a heavy plastic/wood. Took a few minutes to understand the assembly instructions, but I bought 3 of them so after the 1st one I was able to figure out the other 2. I'm 5'10" so it's a little lower than a standard chair but I am getting use to sitting on it. The top of the cousin probably will hit our calves. The corner chair weighs about 45-50lbs, kind of heavy, but I plan on keep the chairs outside year round. Hope this helps! Good buy!

I bought this for my small patio. I chose to piece together three different pieces and wanted the corner chair rather than the end left armrest chair. I really like this piece and it fit perfectly on my patio. Some of the legs were hard to attach since the pieces had to fit into hard plastic, but I would still purchase it again.

Comfortable set, good quality, looks great. Modular design means maximum flexibility with changing arrangement or if you need to move.
