This daybed is beautiful but it definitely was kind of challenging to put together. Definitely refer to the pictures on the website so you can actually see how things go. It took us all week to put it together, but I put things together wrong so there was a lot back stepping . The first half went great. It was easy. The rest wasn’t as easy as you can tell in the pictures we have not put the umbrella put together yet because we were so frustrated. We decided to take a stopping point. Definitely are going to put on the umbrella. The mat isn’t very thick. It’s probably about an inch inch and a half but is still a great addition to our backyard. Good quality, comes with everything you need to put it together, including the tools. It took my husband about an hour to put it together. There were a few times I needed to help because 2 sets of hands were definitely needed. It’s comfortable, 3 people can easily sit on it.
