This is a great-looking gazebo. Before I started assembly, I coated all of the wood pieces with a clear protectant (Cabot). It's not a big job and only requires buying a quart. I then put it together over the course of a few days. It absolutely requires 3 people at a minimum to attach the posts together. I managed to get the top frame up myself, but that would have been easier with 2 people. The rest I did myself, with many, many times up and down the ladder (I am 5'6''). I would recommend using an electric screwdriver with an attachment for the hex bolts. You must install 140 (approx), which is WAY too much work for the cheap little wrench they provide in the kit. Everything was extremely well organized and labeled, and the only missteps were user error. I am attaching this to a deck with composite wood. I have to buy a piece of 2x8 pressure treated lumber and deck screws (to span the joists, under the decking), and 16 lag bolts for the post anchors. They will be screwed through the decking into the new pressure treated wood pieces. This will require some minor carpentry skills and an additional $50 or so in supplies. This took me some effort to figure out, so sharing this here for future buyers. The kit comes only with anchor spikes for a grass installation. All in all I am thrilled with how this looks, so far, and the neighbors are all astounded.. Emily. MN. Tue May 27 2025
