I think this is a solid piece that fulfill the function for which I got it very well. It is true that, as some reviewer mentioned, there seems to be a "discoloration" to the wood. It appears to be intentional so as to add depth. It did not bother me in the least. I got the 39 inches table. It is heavy and yes, it has a tiny detail on the top that makes the surface rougher, but I do not think it is a problem.

Arrived with multiple scratches, dents, and unsightly imperfections - staining was uneven inside both circles. At least I didn't have to go through the trouble of assembly.
