While this item is well-made, the inside dimensions are very limited. The raised sides take up a lot of the circumference. The edge of the pillow fits partially under the sides leaving a useable area of about 7”x8” for your pet to lie down flat. I have a 5 pound Maltese who can’t lie comfortably. Also, the top cover does not stand up as shown in the picture. I do not recommend this product for a dog, unless perhaps a very tiny one.
