It's not weatherproof. In hindsight, this should have been obvious just from looking at it, but I guess I was feeling optimistic about the fact that an item whose sole purpose is to be put outside of a window would be able to handle weather. The plexiglass windows all have these random larger-than-bugs sized holes in them. They aren't for any hardware, and I can't think of any other purpose either since the whole back side is open to the house, so it's not like it needs breathing holes. When you install the pieces of the box together, you'll notice they aren't flush. Especially the plexiglass pieces. All the materials are cheap and flimsy, and there are pretty substantial gaps left throughout once it's built. If you have to extend the sides to fit your window frame at all, it leaves huge gaps underneath about 2 inches tall and as long as the sides have to be extended. We checked several times to ensure we installed it correctly, and it was the only way it made sense and fit right. I checked the manual and noticed none of the photos or diagrams show the bottom of the window frame. We caulked up the holes in the plexiglass and around the edges to try to seal it from bugs, and we put weatherproofing tape along the bottom where the large gaps were, but we just had our first rain and it puddled inside the box. We had to go out in the rain to put a trash bag over it, and we will probably have to put some weatherproofing tape along every edge once it dries off. Hopefully that will do the trick, but it certainly won't look very nice. I'm also concerned that the integrity of the cheap wood they used will be damaged now that it has been wet. Fingers crossed my kitty doesn't tumble out the window in the coming days. I gave it 2 stars bc my cat does love it, and if you're crafty you can make this box work. But even being one of the least expensive on the market, it is way overpriced. Materials for this couldn't have cost more than $20. And some kind of disclaimer that it may require weatherproofing before installation would be helpful. Almost forgot, you will also need to figure out a way to secure your window once this is installed because the window will no longer lock, and I imagine it would be very easy for someone to push the window open from the outside.

There is a 1 inch gap from bottom of window sill to sliding units on each side. Picture does not show this gap. Does not fit my window due to this.

My cats love this window box and the view it gives them to our yard where our dogs are. They love to watch what’s going on outside and this window box provides the perfect view.

This perch is perfect for my two fur babies. Easy to assemble and install.

pieces don’t fit together well. measurements on the sight are incorrect as well. was really looking forward to this. very disappointed in the quality

Cats really like it, assembly is tricky because instructions are only pictures. Took about 2 hours to put together.

Excelente for my kitten

i've given this three stars although I probably should've given it two stars. to start with the support air holes that provide air that go through the catio are incredibly small. basically on each side there are four drilled holes approximately 1/8 to 1/4 inch in diameter. This means that the entire air opening for all three size is less than a half of a square inch. That is not much at all to be moving air. Furthermore the side wings leave an opening below them of about an inch and a half. This means that little birds could fly in and go into your house or mice could get or bugs or whatever. I checked with customer service from the manufacturer and they said that was normal. I'm only keeping it because it's too much of a hassle to disassemble it and send it back.

The assembly was very easy--I did it all by myself! Sturdy,great price, and arrived early.

It is good value for the price.But hard for me to put it together.
