Its a really nice roomy cage, especially for the price when you look at others. Its my 2nd one. I have 2 doves and 2 parakeets in the other and they like to fly around. Or for the doves up and down. This one is for Show Pigeon. All were adopted. Pigeon had a 1 level cage and could pace and show off his feathers in his show dance. He cant fly but glides and I will fit this out with side wall perches and some.sort of ladder like hamsters have to walk up. He loves it! Loves it and im sorry I took some long to hook him up. I put the cage together upside down at first. Did the wheels also because I remembered I left it to last and some go right in, other i had to tap in. 3 perches included. If it were for parakeets only Id not use them. If possible cut them or have them cut into smaller lengths at a home improvement place. Then get screws that have screw end and flat end and a butterfly nut. Leave the middle open to fly. Also it keeps fighting down because they can feel need to defend whole perch and they do have a higherarchy. You have to constantly scold younger kids not to push older ones around etc. I also like to hang an outdoor feeder w a perch around to keep seeds from flying. And they dont waste. Also be careful no bullies. Still use perch cups which this has 4! Which Im adding to other cages. There are only 2 doors, I know but for larger birds it works fine. I only use Bounty paper towels and u can see their droppings look good but super absorbant. Give your birds friends because if its just you they stress dependent on you for all their enjoyment. Its nice to have another bird to talk with. Finches need 5 or so or they get crazy but pigeon is only guy relies on me and I take him out theyre very snuggly and similar to cats. Even my finches listen to me. The cage was bent in places and 1 side w the wheel legs was bent in but when I got it alllll 100 complete it was ok. Some other bars off a little. Also 2 corner hollow square shape well one was bent in and I had to find something big enough to put inside and rock around til it bent enough. Its 125.00 I mean u save money and use a little elbow grease. The birds happiness is worth it. And pigeon has room for his warm bath bowls too.
