This is the perfect scratching post for cats because the high-quality sisal rope and sturdy wood base are made from natural nontoxic materials. My cat loves the soft sisal rope and spends quite a bit of time scratching, whereas the old scratching post made from plastic rope is not soft and my cat did not really take to it.
