These do double duty. While they do not hold up all that well with washing - even in a home washing machine (some of the bands came loose); they are now doing double duty as a sofa cover to protect the white sofa - yay!

I think this is a great looking rug, but I gave it a 1-star for the following reasons: 1. Holy stink. I read reviews mentioning how strong of a smell it has out of the bag, but I didn’t expect it to be THIS bad. The rug is in our bedroom and I’m not sure I’ll be able to sleep in there tonight. It gives off a heavy mold/mildew smell which is suspect. 2. Absolutely no vacuuming with a beater-bar vacuum. I have other natural fiber rugs and yes, it says not to use these vacuums on them but I do without any issue. With this rug, you seriously can’t vacuum it with these vacuums. I tried (in an attempt to help get the stink out) and immediately pulled string after string out. I don’t have a more gentle vacuum or setting on it so I guess I’m SOL. I’ll add a picture and update this review after some time has passed.

When vacuuming use without a beater bar or one where you can set the bar to the highest pile setting. If your vacuum has variable power settings, set on low. Spot clean stains immediately with a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly and blot dry. Rotate for even wear.
COMPACT SHIPPING: Your rug will arrive factory rolled/folded and may have creases from tight packaging and compression during storage. These normally flatten within 3-7 days. You can also reduce or remove creasing by rolling the rug and massaging the creases with your hands. The backing will loosen to help the rug lay flat.
