Worked perfectly for our shelves

I did not use these in the traditional way. I have a very large 'L' shaped stand-sit desk. After 5-6 years, the one side of the desk is sagging as there's only a brace on one side (they come with two braces now). I needed something to make sure the one side did not collapse and have my electronics go tumbling down. These worked well. See pictures. I used 2x4's and painted them black. It all worked well.

The paperwork said the braces could support up to 1000 lbs---if configured correctly. I needed to support about a 80 pound drill press. I was more concerned with strength and stability. My drill press table is rock solid. I only used 2 of the 6 shelving modules on this project so I am looking forward to make something else. I would have given this 5 stars but when I tried to put in screws from the end, it caused my 2X4 to slant. I eventually solved the problems by using screws from both ends and alternating the tightening process.

Assembly was more difficult than expected, mainly because the screw holes were in difficult places i.e. screws must be inserted from underneath, but the bottom bracket ends up with only a couple inches of clearance from the floor, some predrilled screw holes where too close to the reinforcing ribs when they just as easily could have been in an area fee of obstructions I wish there was a easy way to hold the 2x4s in place until they can be screwed in. Solidity built, I would buy again.

Comfy and problem resolved quickly.

Use these to build ammo racks for my basement storage. Have also used them in my shed. You can build many things with them and they are sturdy. Very useful and a good but.
