I havent tried the lock yet, but this little trunk is perfect to lock away some little keepsakes, journals, or anything! I also purchased one for my husband as a gift as we have small children!

This was the perfect item for our pirate themed Halloween party. We used it as a treasure box for the winning team following an elaborate treasure hunt. It was attractive, had good substance, not at all cheap feeling. We were pleasantly surprised. It was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but it ended up being just perfect.
