We purchased the shelves for use in the kitchen in a beach house renovation. Our goal is to use the shelves to store plates, glasses, etc. They are aesthetically pleasing; however, the finish is on the wood is subpar and there is no polyurethane to protect the shelf. When we placed clean mug from the dishwasher on the shelf, a water ring immediately appeared. We will now need to sand this out and apply polyurethane.
