Purchased 6 months ago. Great for transporting small files, but the locking mechanism is a problem. It broke and fell off after a few weeks. Have been managing with a carabiner clip through the lock hole. Is it possible to just get a replacement handle?

I'm just gonna say I bought this 10+ yrs ago & my latch immediately broke. Seems like that's still been going on..for years. So.. where's the new latch ? Or why can't I get a replacement latch?

The latch hinge has a thin joint where the latch connects to the box, and the hinge breaks off easily through normal use.

Love the file box. Very well made. But the latch broke in the first month. Used 4 times before it broke off.

This thing is great. I use to store all my children's' school work during the year. If I need to find anything school work during the year, I know right where it is. At the end of the school year, I empty and prepare for the next year.

I am a bus driver and this filing box is great. I now need a replacement latch as I am in and out of this box over 20 times a day.

This file box is exactly what I need for the few things I still keep in paper form. We recently ditched our large file cabinet and digitized most of what was in it. Pros: I like how the entire top area is designed to store essentials (pens, clips, scissors, etc). The other portable file boxes I considered don't have nearly as much space in the lid for this. The latch to close the box and the handle to pick up the box are both solid and sturdy. I can pick this box up one handed, by the handle, full of files and paper, and carry it with confidence (i.e. it does not feel like the latch or handle will give way....causing the bottom of the box to fall out and your files and papers ending up all over the floor due to handle or latch failure - - yes I've had this happen with other file box brands). The only Con I can find is with the hinges. The box I purchased didn't come with the little buttons or plugs that are needed to keep the lid secured to the box. Anyone know where I can find these? Or do I need to buy a whole other box?

I've had this awesome file box for a few years now and noticed that one of the caps of the hinges has come off and the file box cannot stay closed when being carried. It does not appear that I've overloaded the file box, as it's always held the files I've stored and there is room to slide them around for accessibility, so I'm not sure what caused the part to pop off. I've reached out to customer support for assistance finding replacement caps. When I was looking at this, I'm finding that this is a common issue. Hopeful that Sterilite: a. has replacement parts readily available and, b. they improve the design for future file boxes! Aside from the part, I do like this box. I'd like to fix it and not have to buy a whole replacement. :)

I bought this about year ago. I use it for filing paperwork for a small business. The hinge that holds it closed broke after a few months with very little use so I can no longer carry it by the handle on top.

I bought this a couple of months ago, but the disk that hold the hinges broke. I carried it into a courthouse 3 time, and one fell out, then I was two hand carrying it and the other did. DEFECTIVE. Are there replacement parts?
