Not just a tool for the aesthetically aware, marble rolling pins are favoured by top pastry chefs the world over. Why? For starters, they can be chilled to assist in rolling out cold-sensitive doughs, and their heavier-than-wood weight means less strain on your arms as you work. Plus, marble is a non-porous surface, warding off moisture, grease, and odours. This design features a pair of wooden grips and a coordinating cradle, so you can show this pin off when it's not in use.
I have never had a marble rolling pin before, just the wooden kind. I was in heaven when I first used it to make my sugar cookies. No sticking and easy to roll any dough to your liking. The cradle is a welcome plus and holds the roller quite well. As you can tell by my picture, it is a champagne color marble, which I would have preferred the same marble as the pastry board. George.
