Palace Imports 100% Solid Wood 6-Shelf Bookcase, Adjustable Shelves, 32" Wide, 71.5" Tall

Very solid piece. The color is nice and the assembly was easy. I’m using the piece in my craft room closet and it’s just lovely. The only criticism I would put forth is that the shelving unit is actually two pieces that sit on top of each other. Once I unpack the rest of my items, the weight will balance everything.

The front strip on the bottom had gaps on the one side and the are held in with predrilled wood dowels so no way to snug it up. The wood panel on the backing has a plastic strip that goes between them and looks cheap. The basic construction is fine but cheaply made for the price of it. Also the tall book case is not one tall book cases. Its 2 short bookcases, one flipped on the top of the other. Im going to have to buy moldings to finish it and make it look nicer. Also ordered panels for the backing that are one piece vs the 2 pieces from a local lumber yard. For a kids room, or unless you are handy with wood amd can dress it up, I would get something else.

Shelves made out of real wood! Almost unheard of these days. All the parts were intact no issues with the paint other than a light odor that dissipated in a few days. I waited for a sale and bought 2 to stand together as one wider bookcase. There is about a 14” gap between them as the trim on the top bottom extend a bit beyond the sides. Overall, they will serve their purpose. The back panel is quite thin and in 2 parts, so a plastic strip goes down the center of the back of the shelf to connect them. I was disappointed to see that, but it really isn’t noticeable once books and other items are strategically positioned on the shelves. I have the white shelves. Hopefully, the color of the plastic strip matches the other colors of shelves just as well. They look and feel sturdy, but I would feel better if the top section was more sturdily attached to the bottom half as they are built in 2 sections. However, I made sure they were attached to the wall as well as attached to the 2nd bookcase, so they are stable. I had them assembled by a Wayfair’s (Angie’s List) handyman near me. They did a sufficient job, but had I not intermittently supervised the assembly, the 2 sections would have been inverted (with the top half on the bottom …). Also, they took the extra parts hardware which would be helpful just in case…

I love this bookcase. It is made of sturdy parts, not the cheap, thin melamine of some previous items I have purchased. It was easy to assemble.

My daughter uses it for a sweatersweatshirt shelves. Really great use of it!
